Bella Cakes offers unique and delectable special occasion and wedding cakes at very competitive prices. I am both the owner and the primary baker/decorator therefore I have very little overhead. I use high quality ingredients and a lot of my designs are extremely labor intensive and require hours of preparation. I am always willing to work with the client to create the cake of their dreams while staying in their budget. There are many things that factor into the total price of the cake.

The most affordable option for wedding cakes is typically a basic cake flavor with butter cream icing (and filling) that is decorated with fresh flowers. These cakes are delicious, beautiful and reasonably priced. Prices tend to increase slightly when clients choose more exotic flavors that include expensive chocolate, nuts, fresh fruit or liquors. Also, choosing more than one flavor for the cake, frosting or filling can add to the cost. In addition, the use of sugar-paste flowers, which are very labor intensive, can add to the overall price of the cake.

Cakes covered in fondant (rolled sugar dough) create a perfectly smooth contemporary look. Fondant can also be used to make flowers and other decorations. Fondant is great for themed cakes and other specialty cakes because it can be molded and shaped in the same way that clay can. It can also be tinted or airbrushed to most any color. All fondant cakes are first covered in the butter cream of your choice. This helps retain the cakes moisture and the softness of the fondant. Therefore, fondant cakes are more expensive than butter cream cakes.

If you order from another baker, be certain to taste their fondant. Most fondant looks good but does not taste good. Your guests will likely peel it off to get to the butter cream under it (after you’ve paid so much for it!). Bella Cakes makes our fondant from scratch to order and it is sure to be the best you have ever tasted.

There is another alternative. It’s called modeling chocolate. It gives the perfectly smooth high fashion look of today’s most popular cakes and it taste absolutely fabulous! It can be made out of white, milk or dark chocolate. White chocolate can be tinted just like fondant. Naturally it is slightly off-white (look at a bar of white chocolate), not pure white like fondant. Again, your cake would first be covered in the buttercream of your choice and then the chocolate is laid on top of it. Modeling chocolate is the highest priced choice for covering your cake (but it’s totally worth it!).

Another thing to consider is the shape of your cake. Round cakes are the easiest to make smooth (with any of the above mentioned icings). Square, heart, hexagon and flower shaped cakes are much more difficult to work with. Consequently, their prices are slightly higher.

I do not provide wedding cake toppers. You will need to purchase one yourself and bring it to me when you make your final payment (14 days out). I can, however, make wedding cake toppers out of fondant or modeling chocolate. Keep in mind they will have a more cartoon-like appearance. This is a great option for the bride that wants to include things from her life (like pets or sports) that aren’t usually found on your typical craft store cake topper. The price of a custom cake topper is variant depending on its complexity.

Bella Cakes will provide you with a written estimate of the total cost of your cake after your initial consultation. In addition, the final price of your cake will be on the actual cake contract. Of course, if you make changes the price of your cake may change as well. I will always be upfront with any additional charges.
