About Us

 
I started Bella Cakes after being inspired by “Ace of Cakes” on the Food Network. I’ve always been artistic and have also always loved being in the kitchen but had not thought to creatively combine these two loves until I saw the amazing edible works of art that are created on that show. My husband was a general contractor for years so his knowledge of construction helps me build cakes that would otherwise be impossible with basic stacked or pillar construction. We love to think outside of the box!

Why have a boring, flat Crisco laden sheet cake from the grocery when you can have something that will look unique and taste fabulous?

I only use quality ingredients: butter, eggs, whole milk, imported chocolates. My cakes are never frozen. I am able to offer a large variety of flavors because each cake is made specifically for the client. Instead of plain chocolate, why not try a Swiss chocolate cake spiked with Grande Marnier and filled with chocolate ganache? Or perhaps white chocolate cake with white chocolate cream cheese frosting and fresh raspberry filling. If you can imagine it, I can create it! All of my cakes are incredibly moist and flavorful. I love to see the reaction when people take their first bite!

Unlike the large industrial bakeries in Charlotte, Bella Cakes offers “boutique cakes”. I have less overhead, which is reflected in my pricing. Typically my clients can either get more cake, or a more intricate design for the same price as my competitors.
